Perfectly normal! I do the same thing. But I also examine the spine and note how designers solve problems there, especially long book titles. Given a 8x5.25” hardboard, eventually design problems will be solved but 8x1” … that is a bit more of a challenge.
That After the Sun cover is a piece of glitch art unto itself. Formally and compositionally all correct but hurts to look at!
