After reading my dumbass idea to copy and paste my newsletters into new Google docs,

Gérard Mclean
was kind enough to share a tool he developed for turning html files into formatted text. Thanks, Gérard! This should save me some time and headache.

While I should be compiling and editing, I keep messing with my page design. Specifically the margins. I increased them a bit. I did so after realizing I needed to think about my image captions more. In my first test, I placed the caption at the bottom of the page with a line above it. Looked nice. But then, I started formatting an essay with footnotes—and immediately realized they were going to compete with my captions.

I pulled Never Use Futura, one of my favorite books, off the shelf for reference. This book has more images and illustrations than mine ultimately will have, but it reminded me that A) wider margins look great, and B) margins are useful for captions. The book doesn’t have footnotes, but it places most captions in the outside margins.
